I am Baby Bee Safe's First Aid Trainer Lauren Grace.
I run a hectic house with a young daughter who is always on the go and we have a new arrival joining the mad house in April.
Having a little one around the house makes you realise that hazards are everywhere and the importance of acting quickly when an accident occurs!
I am a current serving Police Sergeant and the designated first aider in the office. I receive annual police emergency life saving and first aid training. This is something that I took for granted until I had my child, Bethanie. I now see my training as an invaluable tool which gave me the confidence to act fast and assist my daughter when she needed my help.
Bethanie was prone to febrile convulsions and choked on a piece of food whilst I was weaning her. These are by far the scariest incidents that I have ever dealt with within my personal and professional life. You can not describe what goes through your mind when you see your child in danger.
Luckily from previous first aid training I received from my job I knew exactly what to do.
This is why I am so dedicated to train anyone who comes into contact with children as I know that by acting quickly and using your first aid skills you could potentially save lives!
I am now a qualified first aid trainer and assessor able to teach: Paediatric and Adult First Aid.
My passion is to teach Basic First Aid to new parents, carers and school children.
I have completed:
Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
First Aid Instructor and Assessor qualification.
Level 3 Award in First Aid At Work.
Paediatric First Aid.
Automated Defibrillation Trainer and assessor qualification.
Every year I attend an Instructor study day where my teaching is assessed and quality assured.
